The first trip I made from Bordeaux was to Arcachon, along the southwest coast of France, to the Dune du Pilat. At a height of 107 meters above sea level – it’s the largest dune in Europe. Once I had climbed up the stairs on the eastern side of the dune, i couldn’t believe how large it was. It’s like a strip of desert trapped between a dense green forest and the Atlantic Ocean.
